Living in a small town, I find myself drawn to the wonderful vistas and gentle rolling hills of Ohio. The challenge of trekking through nature to find the perfect setting excites me. The rich vibrant color of oil paint is my favorite medium to work with. The greatest challenge for me is to find the perfect composition in a panoramic view of nature.
My paintings reflect a fascination with nature, architecture, and people. Because of this interest, my work has evolved to explore the relationship between color and light in the environment around me. I am known for my ability to capture unique and vibrant color in a fresh and painterly manner. I have learned so many things from painting such as becoming more aware of the world and people around me and seeing something beautiful that is otherwise mundane. Art is more than just a pretty picture on the wall; it is also about the people you meet and the friendships you make.
When I’m not working on a commission piece, I travel throughout Ohio with the Ohio Plein Air Society. I also enjoy traveling to Europe and Japan with other artists to paint and sketch. My experience in Engineering and Interior Design influence the way I see life around me. Both have given me an enriched view of spatial design and color. I am grateful to my husband and two daughters who support me in my endeavors to develop my skills as an artist. Art has become a huge part of my life and I enjoy the ability to express myself on canvas. Michelle
